Who We Are

Our Foundation was formed in June 2004 by David Peterson David had recently visited Peru and was inspired by the effort of the town of Tamshiyacu to bring education to its youth. David is an attorney in private practice in Albany, California.













David was joined by Alan Copeland as a foundation director in August 2004. Alan is a world renowned photojournalist who has traveled to the village and taken the pictures you see on this website.











Our foundation is assisted by our core of volunteers, principally Nakele Obleton. Nakele is a computer software implementation project manager who supports websites for a variety of non-profit organizations
